eDoc Organizer is a comprehensive application to help you manage electronic document libraries. This program’s interface is very attractive, with an excellent visual design characterized by a nice color combination and a carefully planned layout. Unfortunately, the program may not be easy to use for inexperienced users, and you will probably need to consult the online help before you are able to exploit this program´s full potential.
It has a main window that acts as a control panel for all your actions but there are also some secondary windows meant for other operations, such as viewing a document, importing elements, etc. There are various ways to add new documents to the library. First, you can use your scanner to convert your paper documents into electronic ones. Second, and this may be the main source of new documents, you can import existing files from a regular folder. Finally, the program also allows you to capture selected regions from your screen and turn them into documents as well. In all cases, the program will automatically apply a label system based on color codes, which you can customize at any time. These labels will be an essential aid for the powerful filter and search engine available in this application. An appealing feature of eDoc Organizer is that it can use optical character recognition on most file types. This way it makes it easy for you to transform scanned pages into editable documents. In addition, this application provides several ways to share your documents. You can just print them, but you can also export them to a given location. Another option is to send the files over e-mail. It also includes a PDF merging tool to combine several documents into a larger file.
As a whole, eDoc is a fine application that can save you hours of work cataloguing or searching for files. However, one disadvantage, compared with simple file tagging, is that its database uses much more disk space.
